Rich Cahill is a New Jersey–based songwriter whose creative path began in tattoo shops long before finding its way onto record. Years spent as a tattoo artist instilled a disciplined, hands-on approach that now defines his songwriting—direct, deliberate, and emotionally grounded. His debut EP, Hawk Over the Highway, introduced an alt-americana sound built on grit and melody, drawing comparisons to artists like Chuck Ragan, Chris Wollard, and Billy Bragg.

Cahill has performed extensively throughout the Northeast, steadily building a reputation for earnest, stripped-down performances. His musical journey is closely tied to his time at Anchors Aweigh Tattoo in Bradley Beach, NJ, owned by Bryan Kienlen of The Bouncing Souls. Through the shop, Cahill connected with fellow tattoo artist and musician Jordan Joyes of Gallows Bound, who encouraged him to bring his growing catalog of songs into the studio.

Cahill recorded his first EP at Little Eden in Asbury Park, NJ, owned by Pete Steinkopf of The Bouncing Souls. The release features layered vocal harmonies, reflective harmonica passages, and subtle brass flourishes.

He is currently working on a 10-song full-length LP, recorded and produced by his close friend Andy Waldeck in Charlottesville, VA, with a planned release in 2026.
